发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has excellent wear resistance and lubricity and is suitable for high-density recording by providing a protective film formed by incorporating a fluorine compd. into a porous polysilicate film formed from quaternary ammonium silicate on a thin ferromagnetic metallic film. CONSTITUTION:The thin ferromagnetic metallic film 2 consisting of a Co-Cr alloy, etc. is formed on a nonmagnetic base material 1 which is a polyethylene terephthalate film, etc. and thereafter the porous polysilicate film 3 having about 200Angstrom thickness is formed on the film 2 by bringing the quaternary ammonium silicate into reaction at 80 deg.C by using glyoxal as a hardener. The fluorine compd. having >=300 deg.C b.p. and decomposition point, for example, fluorinated oil (''Krytox 143(R)'' produced by Du Pont) is vacuum-impregnated to the film 3 and thereafter the excess liquid layer on the surface is wiped away. The long-life magnetic disk or the like having the excellent wear resistance and lubricity is obtd.
