METHOD FOR MELTING RESIN OF FIBER REINFORCED RESIN ARTICLE

PURPOSE:To bond fiber-reinforced resin articles to each other firmly by exposing fiber by melting quickly the resin at a required position and removing it, by heating a dissolving material and air-spraying a high-speed stream thereof on the required position of fiber-reinforced resin articles. CONSTITUTION:A dissolving material 13 composed of a solvent alone or a mixture thereof with an eroding material is heated and a high-speed stream thereof is air-sprayed on a fiber reinforced resin article 1 composed of a resin 2 incorporating fibers 3 such as glass fiber and carbon fiber therein to dissolve the resin in said article. Examples of the solvents are chlorinated hydrocarbons such as chloroform. Examples of the eroding materials are nonionic compds. such as polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers. The fiber reinforced resin article 1 is introduced through a side opening 7 into a dissolving chamber 5 and the dissolving material 13 is sprayed through a nozzle 8 thereon to dissolve and remove the resin 2, thus exposing the glass fiber 3.
