<p>Bits introduced on the coaxial bus line (10) by other stations are detected by an envelope detector and counter (44) driving a circuit (46) for phase adjustment before transmission of a collision frame. A frame length selector (50) forwards data to a binary frame generator (54) which drives the transmitter (60) via a shaping circuit (56) and gate (58). - A switch (62) connects this chain either to the receiver (64), to a cyclic bit generator (66) or to a random burst generator (68).
