PURPOSE:To correct time base fluctuation by detecting a track pattern of a disc recording and reproducing medium so as to calculate a tracking data corresponding to a rotating phase and synchronizing an AC component of the tracking data in synchronizing with the rotating phase so as to impress the component to the drive motor. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal recorded on the disc recording medium (sheet) 2 rotated by a sheet motor 1 is extracted by a reproducing head 3. A PG pulse 8 detected by a PG coil 7 and an FG pulse 10 of an FG9 are inputted to a motor control circuit 11 and an address signal generating circuit 14. A maximum point detection circuit 19 detects a track pattern detecting signal 21, a microprocessor 22 calculates a tracking data corresponding to an address signal 15 outputted from the circuit 14 by using the signal 21, extracts the AC component of the tracking data and writes it to a time axis correction RAM 25. The data in the RAM25 is read in synchronizing with the signal 15, fed to a motor drive circuit 13 together with the output of the circuit 11 to correct the time base fluctuation.
