<p>The powder fire extinguisher has a chamber to hold the powder, a container for compressed gas and an outlet to pass gas from the container to the chamber to discharge powder from a chamber outlet. - A valve (31,32) is provided in the chamber outlet having a movable member actuated by pressure on opposing faces, on and off a seat in the valve housing. The area of the valve member face exposed to pressure from the chamber is greater than that of the other face. A passage is provided from the gas container to the valve housing to allow gas to act on the other face of the valve directly that the container is opened.</p> |
