Aminopyrazoles of formula (I) and their phenylhydrazine intermediates of formula (IV) are new: R1=H, NO, NO2, halo, alkyl, haloalkyl, opt. substd. aryl, S(O)nR9, COR10, -C(R10)=N-OR11 or -P(O)(OR11)2; R20H or -CX-R12; R3 is as R2 or also alkyl, R4 and R6=CN, NO2, halo, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy or -S(O)nR13; R5, R7 and R8 are as defined for R4, or additionally H; R9=H, OH, halo, amino (opt. substd. by) or 2 alkyl), alkyl, haloalkyl or opt. substd. aryl; R10=H, alkyl or opt. substd. aryl; R11=H, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl; R12=H, alkyl (opt. substd. by halo, alkoxy or alkylthio), alkenyl, alkynyl, opt. substd. cycloalkyl or aryl, alkoxy, alkylthio, opt. substd. aryloxy or arylthio, mono- or di-alkylamino, or opt. substd. arylamino; R13=alkyl, haloalkyl or amino (opt. substd. by 1 or 2 alkyl); X=O or S; n=0-2. - When R1=H, Me or opt. substd. Ph, R4 and R6 cannot both be NO2. Z=-CH=C(R1)CN or gp. (N). Also new are herbicidal compsns. contg. (I), including cpds. excluded by the proviso.
