Pyrrolidone derivs. of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new. R1 = H or alkyl; R2 = (a) phenyl opt. mono- or disubstd. by alkoxy, F, Cl, Br, CF3, alkyl, OH or NO2, or (b) pyridyl; R3 and R4 = H or alkyl, or NR3R4 = a satd. 5- or 6-membered ring (opt. contg. another N or O heteroatom and opt. substd. by Me) or an imidazole ring; the R3R4NCH2 gp. is in the 4 or 5 posn.
