PURPOSE:To improve the workability, and also to align exactly array positions of both ends by forming to a bundle plural bodies of an optical fiber obtained by wire-drawing a preform, wire-drawing it, and manufacturing the titled infrared image guide. CONSTITUTION:The first synthetic resin tube 2 which has installed a glass rod 1 to the inside is brought to thermal contraction under a reduced pressure, and a preform A is prepared. It is brought to wire drawing under heating, and a fiber Aa whose core 1a and tube 2a consist of the glass rod 1 and the synthetic resin tube 2, respectively is prepared. The fibers Aa of a desired number of pieces are inserted into the second synthetic resin tube 6 having a thermal contraction property, also heated by a heater 7, and a bundle preform B bundled by a thermal contraction is prepared. By bringing it to wire drawing from one end side, an infrared image guide C having the first and the second synthetic resin tubes 2, 6 as a clade (a) and having plural glass cores (b) in its inside is manufactured. |
