<p>Conical nozzles are formed in cylindrical tubing by (a) inserting a conical punch in the tube, (b) placing a conical mould formed by two halves around the tube; and (c) exerting pressure on the mould so that the tube is deformed and adapts itself to the conical punch. The surplus material is flattened to form a pair of diametral wings increasing in width as the cone dia. is reduced. The method is suitable for copper tubes of 5-40 mm. dia.</p> |
