The process comprises reaction of cyclohexanone of formula (II) with a sodium azide in strong acid medium to give a cpd. of formula (III). This then undergoes N-alkylation and reduction to give cpd. of formula (I). R and R1 are lower alkyls and R2 is hydrogen or aroyl. The prod. is treated with acid to give pharmacologically acceptable salts such as hydrochlorate or hydrocromate.
