Naphthylalkyl imidazoles and related cpds. of the formulae (I), (II) and (III) and their acid-addition salts are novel. In the formulae R = H or methyl; R' = H, 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy or halo; R'' = H or 1-3C alkyl; n = 0 or 1; Y = 1-2C alkylene; Z = -HC=CH- or 2-3C alkylene opt. substd. by one or two 1-2C alkyl gps. - Specifically claimed are 2-((3,4-dihydro-1-methyl) 2-naphthyl)methyl) -4,5-dihydro-1H imidazole; 2-((3,4-dihydro -2-naphthyl) methyl) -4,5-dihydro 1H-imidazole; 2-((1-methyl-2-naphthyl) methyl)-4,5-dihydro 1H-imidazole.
