The axle (7) of the forme cylinder unit is mounted on one side in a flange (15) and on the other side in the second machine wall (19) so as to be rotatable and slidable. The flange (15) is centred in a bore in the first machine wall (17), said bore providing a free passage to the forme cylinder (5) and the register wheel (9), and can be locked together with said machine wall by means of a quick-acting closure (18). The extended end (20) of the axle (7) is connected by means of a holder (21) and the flange (15) is connected directly to a guide (22) mounted in a sliding manner in the machine walls (17, 19), as a result of which the forme cylinder unit can be withdrawn towards the outside of the first machine wall (17) for the freely accessible exchange of the forme cylinder (5). <IMAGE>
