PURPOSE:To obtain a W/O emulsion composition extremely stable over a wide temp. range, by using a propylene oxide/ethylene oxide adduct having a propylene oxide chain present therein and containing an alkyl group as branched group. CONSTITUTION:A propylene oxide/ethylene oxide adduct [e.g., polyoxyethylene (15)polyoxypropylene(8)-2-tetradecyl-octadecyl ether] represented by formula (wherein a is an integer of 7-19, b is an integer of a+2, m is a number of 5- 30 in an average addition mol number and n is a number of 5-30 in an average addition mol number) is contained in an amount of 0.1-20wt% of the total amount of a W/O emulsion composition. This W/O emulsion composition has extremely good storage stability over a wide temp. range. Especially, polar oil such as triglyceride being a sebum analogue component, which could not be compounded conventionally even if desired to be compounded because stability at ambient temp. was inferior, can be prepared as an extremely stable W/O emulsion composition. |
