The seal (1) is attached to the ends of one housing part, e.g. a duct (2), and has a flexible neck (4) and a double-ended lipped section (5) which aligns along the side of a second duct (7). The duct edges are in an overlapping arrangement, with the lips providing the self-sligning seal. The seal has one lipped end (8) and one reaction end (6). It has a concave shape fitting the sealing surface and is reinforced by an insert layer (11).
