The device (4) takes the form of a collar which can be slid freely onto the shaft (1) to which the bearing (3) or other part-rotatable component is fitted, and has an annular projection (5) designed to abut with the inner race (3a) of the bearing, or at all events with that part of such a component remaining integral with the shaft, and urge it against a shoulder (2). The collar is provided with one or more peripheral through holes (6) which are threaded so as to accommodate respective grubscrews (7), each designed to locate on and tighten against a relative surface (8) machined from the shaft and angled with respect to the shaft's longitudinal axis. Tightening of the grubscrews both urges the collar toward the shoulder, locking the bearing or part- rotatable component thereagainst, and renders it immovable with respect to the shaft. <IMAGE> |
