PURPOSE:To seal up working gas, by sealing between a displacer rod and an expansion cylinder and between a power piston rod and a compression cylinder with flexible elastic membranes to make the pressures of operating and crank chambers equal together. CONSTITUTION:A first flexible elastic membrane 19 such as, for example, bellows, is secured at its one end to the lower section of an expansion cylinder 1 and at its the other end to a displacer rod 6. Further, a first sealing chamber 19a is formed, and a second flexible elastic membrane 20 is secured at its one end to the lower section of a compression cylinder 8 and at the other end to a power piston rod 11 thereby a second sealing chamber 20a is formed. The first and second sealing chambers are communicated with a buffer chamber 18. By heating and cooling coolant 26 charged in a crank chamber, the pressure of inside of the crank chamber is made equal to an averaged pressure of an operating chamber composed of the expansion cylinder 1, a heater tube 2, a regenerator 3 and the compression cylinder 8, and to the pressure of an reaction chamber composed of the buffer cylinder 18, etc. |
