<p>An electric cooking plate, for example a glass-ceramic hob, comprises a heater winding (1) which largely overlies a cooking zone. A temperature monitor (3) is disposed in this zone. In order to intensify the parboiling process, it is usual to operate with higher heating power, but this increased power is transferred to the cooking vessel only in the case of flat-bottomed vessels. In the case of a non-planar vessel bottom, the temperature monitor (3) may switch off the heating element before full transfer of its heat to the vessel and thereby interrupt the parboiling process. To avoid this, an additional heater winding (2), which provides a good heat transfer even in the case of a non-planar vessel bottom, is provided at the periphery of the cooking zone. <IMAGE></p> |
