PURPOSE:To provide a recording material which is capable of giving a sufficient developed color density when being used in combination with an electron-donative colorless dye and is improved in preservability in raw state and preservability with time, by using an arylsulfonyloxy-subst. phenol derivative as an electron- acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:An arylsulfonyloxy-subst. phenol derivative, preferably, one of those of general formulas ( I ) and (II), wherein Ar is aryl, and each of X and Y, which may be the same or different, is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen, alkoxycarbonyl or aralkyloxycarbonyl, is used as an electron-acceptive compound in combination with an electron-donative colorless dye. The amounts of the dye and the electron-acceptive compound may be appropriately selected depending on the desired thickness of coated film, the form of a pressure-sensitive manifold paper, the method of preparing capsules or other conditions. The thermal recording material comprises 1-2pts.wt. of the dye, 1-6pts.wt. of the electron-acceptive compound, 0-30pts.wt. of a heat-fusible substance, 0-15pts.wt. of a pigment, 1-15pts.wt. of a binder and a small amount of other additives, dispersant or the like. A mixture of a plurality of electron-donative colorless dyes may be used. As the dispersant (solvent), water is most preferable. |
