<p>A method of coding a television signal comprises sampling the television signal periodically to provide a sequence of samples, coding each sample to form an 8-bit data word, assembling the data words into blocks of 128 data words, providing for each data block four 6-bit address words, converting each said 6-bit address word into a respective balanced 8-bit address word, providing for each data block two balanced 8-bit synchronizing words, and assembling the balanced 8-bit synchronizing words and address words with the respective data words.</p> |
