BI-VERTICAL MAIN DISTRIBUTING FRAME CONNECTOR A connector for interconnecting on a telephone central office main frame outside plant wires and central office equipment leads is designed to be attached to two vertical main frame members. The connector includes two connector units which are abutted in spatial mirror image. Each connector unit includes a protector field and an adjacent cross-connect field. The protector field comprises a rectangular connector panel and pin-grip connectors into which are inserted electric protectors of the type having accessible test apertures. The crossconnect field comprises cross-connect terminals which extend rearward of and forward of a rectangular crossconnect panel. The cross-connect panel is adjacent to the connector panel but spaced apart in a parallel relationship therewith so that the tips of the cross-connect terminals and the tops of the electric protectors, when inserted in the connector panel, lie in substantially the same plane. Designation dividers, having prismatic-shaped front portions, separate the protector and cross-connect fields in each connector unit and also the two protector fields in adjacent spatially abutted connector units. The front facing surfaces of these dividers provide for numerical identification of adjacent cross-connect terminals and electric protectors. Each unit also includes a fanning strip disposed along the edge of the cross-connect panel for the orderly routing of the jumper wires attached to the cross-connect terminals. The front edge surface of the fanning strip also provides for the numerical identification of the adjacent cross-connect terminals. The front edge surface of the fanning strip and the intersections of the front facing surfaces of the prismatic designation dividers all lie within the same plane as the tips of the cross-connect terminals and the tops of the electric protectors when inserted in the protector field.
