In a multi-stage centrifugal pump with a number of impellers (21) seated on a common axel (25), interconnecting ducts are formed between every two impellers with the help of a set of guide blades (29), which are seated on a fixed wall (1) and are open against a rotating wall (27) on the adjacent impeller (21). Hereby a powerful circulation is formed in the ducts, which counteracts the formation of build-up and thereby contributes to making the pump useable as a sanitation pump. In the intended means of use the common axel (25) is cantilevered in the pumps high-pressure end. It is hereby possible for there to be only one packed bushing (34) on the low-pressure end.<IMAGE>
