<p>The axle of wheel 5 is mounted in a bearing of sleeve 3 which is coupled to the frame member 6 of the bogie by rubber springs 2. Between the sleeve 3 and the element 8, which is attached to frame member 6 and contains the spring 2, a removable guiding body 1 is fitted. By varying the thickness of the body 1 and hence the longitudinal and/or transverse clearance, the response of the primary suspension in the horizontal plane is varied in frequency and amplitude, enabling the optimum conditions for smooth running to be achieved empirically. <IMAGE></p> |
