PURPOSE:To surely stop a cotter to a grooved part in a valve shaft inside the tapered hole of a retainer, by constituting a device such that the split type cotter while being guided by a guide member in the center can be surely supplied to the tapered hole of the retainer. CONSTITUTION:In a process building a split type cotter in the tapered hole of a retainer, a centering rod 24, moving to a part a little upper than the opening surface of parts supply holes 35 inside a head main unit 10 in a stopped condition by feeding compressed air to a cylinder chamber in the bottom part of a cylinder 25, causes these holes 35 to be placed in an opening condition for a center hole 23. Under this condition, an assembly device, supplying a pair of split type cotters 9 by a parts feeder or the like by feeding air to the respective supply hole 35, enables the normal supply of the cotter 9 to be confirmed. And the respective cotter 9 being left as in an assembly attitude is fitted to a center hole. In this way the cotter can be surely stopped to a grooved part in a valve shaft. |
