PURPOSE:To attain to enhance the accuracy in the measurement of the rigidity and flexibility of sheets, by pressing a cylindrically wound sheet specimen at a constant speed, in such a state that the cylindrical specimen is held between flat plates from both end parts thereof, to deform the same and measuring the deformation stress thereof. CONSTITUTION:A specimen mount flat plate 1 which is continuously movable up and down at a constant speed with the up-and-down movement of a screw block 5 by the positive and reverse rotation of a motor 3, and an upper flat plate 2, which is connected to a strain gauge 7 and a display apparatus 8, are provided to a measuring apparatus. A cylindrical specimen F formed by rolling a sheet cut into a rectangular shape in a cylindrical shape is placed on the flat plate 1 and the motor 3 is positively rotated to raise the flat plate 1 to press the cylindrical specimen F between the flat plates 1, 2. Whereupon, the cylindrical specimen F is deformed and the deformation stress thereof is measured as the load applied to the flat plate 2 by the strain gauge 7 to be displayed on the display apparatus 8 by a graph. By this method, the measurement of the rigidity and flexibility well correlated to organoleptic evaluation can be performed with good accuracy. |
