<p>Filamentous toroidal helix element has loops about the circumference of a hub in an array perpendicular to the hub and interconnected by barrier members each extending from the top of one loop to the bottom of an adjacent loop. Axially within the hub is a post terminating near the upper and lower extremities of the loops to reduce vertical nesting of elements. - The shape provides improved packing, mass-transfer and gas-absorption efficiencies, with increased liquid surface area. The element is pref. of injection moulded thermoplastics, e.g. polypropylene and the surface may be slightly textured to assist droplet formation.</p> |
