PURPOSE:To heat an EGR vave in an exhaust gas circulation passage and to remove suspended matter so that the recirculation capability of exhaust gas may be stabilized to enhance the reliability of an exhaust gas purifying device, by feeding air heat-exchanged in exhaust gas into the EGR valve. CONSTITUTION:When the combustion temperature of an engine becomes high, a solenoid valve 13 opens an EGR valve 12 to allow high temperature exhaust gas to be recirculated from an exhaust manifold 6 to the intake side of the engine through a cylinder head 7 and a passage 11 in an intake manifold 10. In the above-mentioned arrangement the flow rate of bypass air fed from a feed device 3 is limited by an orifice 151 and is then introduced into a bypass air inlet passage 15. Further, bypass air heated in a bypass air heat-exchanger 16 is fed into the valve 12 through a bypass passage 17 in the intake manifold 17. With this arrangement the outlet port section of the exhaust gas circulation passage 11 may be heated to attain a predetermined purpose. |
