PURPOSE:To improve acceleration performance by automatically changing the reduction ratio of a speed changer mechanism via a thrust force generated by the rotation of a propeller. CONSTITUTION:A speed changing shift member 20 moved by receiving a thrust force generated by the rotation of a propeller 18 is connected to the driven wheel 17 of a speed changer mechanism 11, and the reduction ratio of the speed changer mechanism 11 is automatically changed via the thrust force generated by the rotation of the propeller 18. Accordingly, the time from the start until the normal sailing speed is attained is made shorter as compared with the conventional outboard motor, thus acceleration performance is largely improved. |
