PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of a recorded image by oil, water or chemical by providing a protective layer of special cross-linking water emulsion resin. CONSTITUTION:A protective coating agent is a copolymer water emulsion resin containing 45-85wt% of acrylamide or methacrylamide, 10-50wt% of acrylonitryl and 3-20wt% of vinyl compound having the carboxyl group, i.e. acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, maleinic acid, etc. as copolymer components of a base polymerized material. The composition ratio of these ingredients is determined by hydrophobic property and water-proofness. A peroxide is added to an aqueous solution of mixed monomers as a polymerization initiator and is quantitatively dropped to cause a reaction and complete it through maturing. To form a thermal color-forming layer, leuco dye and its developing material scattered in a bonding agent in the form of fine powder are applied to the surface of a support. |
