<p>The weather strip for fitment in vehicle door openings consists of a thin aluminium strip on to which a rubber or P.V.C. coating is vulcanised. The coating is provided with barbs on one side. After coating the strip is extruded into a 'U' shaped rail and a 'U' shaped strip (5) welded to the main strip. The 'U' shaped strip is connected to a tubular sealer strip (4), which has a different elasticity to the main strip. The whole weather strip is fitted over the vehicle door frame flange. This method of prodn. reduces coast and also simplifies its fitment to the vehicle on the vehicle prodn. line.</p> |
