PURPOSE:To produce a decorative effect by masking part of a material for the dial of a timepiece so that a paint film at the masked part is made different from a paint film at the other part in color tone and thickness. CONSTITUTION:A material for the dial of a timepiece is optionally plated to form an under layer, and part of the material is masked with a resist shaped into marks showing an abbreviation, the name of a company, the name of an article or the like or into a decorative pattern. A paint film is then formed on the material by electrodeposition, and after removing the resist, a paint film which is different from said paint film in thickness and color tone is formed on the masked part. |
