PURPOSE:To convert the black picture element data into the white picture element data by obtaining each picture element data and the data on the places near peripheral eight directions by a 3-step shift register after giving the white/ black binarization to the picture input and discriminating a pattern by a table memory. CONSTITUTION:The pictures read by a CCD1 receive the white/black binarization through a binarization circuit 2 and are sent to a noise eliminating circuit 3. The circuit 3 contains shift registers 7-9 connected in series in three steps and a table memory 10 for eliminating noise to which an address is designated by the prescribed 3 bit picture element data (N1, N2, N3) (N0, N8, N4) (N7, N6, N5). Then the circuit 3 decides a legal state as long as the center picture element data is equal to the black picture element data ''1'' and also three peripheral data are set at ''1''. Otherwise an illegal state is decided. Thus the picture element data are sent to a direction code producing circuit 4 and then to a picture memory 5. The transfer of data is carried out with a contour tracking part 6. |
