PURPOSE:To increase the input of a compressor at the time of space heating so as to increase the space heating ability of the titled device by providing a plurality of compressor-operating capacitors, and changing the capacitance of each of the capacitors in accordance with the space cooling mode operation and the space heating mode operation. CONSTITUTION:When the space cooling operation is carried out, the capacitor for operating the compressor is only a capacitor 7a. At the time of the space heating operation, a relay 10 is switched, a four-way valve 9 operates to assume a space heating cycle, and simultaneously a current is supplied to a coil 11 for the relay to switch a relay 12 interlocking therwith. That is, a capacitor 7b is added as a capacitor for driving the compressor at the time of space heating. Accordingly, by the addition of the capacitor for driving the compressor, the input of the compressor 7 is increased. As a result, by use of a compressor of a large capacitance which is a general method for further increasing the capacitor for driving the space heating ability, the space heating ability of the air conditioner can be increased without increasing the size of an outdoor side heat exchanger for preventing frosting thereof. |
