PURPOSE:To facilitate installation of a liner at the time of shrinkage fit and to minimize breakage of the liner by changing shrinkage fit rate extending over the full length of a steel cylinder and a ceramic liner. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder installed in an injection molding machine, an extruder, or the like has internal pressure changing in the axial direction. The outside diameter of a ceramic liner 2 to be shrinkage-fitted is changed corresponding to the internal pressure. The change is such that the outside diameter of the liner corresponding to the measuring zone M of the cylinder is enlarged to heighten the shrinkage-fit rate, and the outside diameters thereof corresponding to the compression zone C and the feed zone F are sequentially reduced in two- stages to lower shrinkage fit rate. The thus formed ceramic liner 2 is shrinkage- fitted to a steel cylinder 1 to form a compound cylinder. |
