The relay consists of a coil former (1) which supports the magnet system having a yoke (5), an armature (6) and a contact spring (7) which is mounted on the armature, as well as a mating contact element (15), and of a base (2) through which flat plugs (14, 16, 23, 24) pass. The coil former (1) and base (2) are held together by means of a cap (3), the flat plugs, which are positioned in pockets and between ribs, being fixed such that they can absorb high insertion forces. <IMAGE>
