In order to achieve a greater delivery efficiency compared to available models, the rotor is constructed with three slots holding the vanes. As a result, a very large value can be chosen for the rotor/bore ratio. The weakening of the rotor profile thus caused was prevented by means of a supporting ring which absorbs the stresses at the locations at risk. The rotor was constructed as a hollow section, firstly to reduce the weight and secondly to cool the pump interior and the vanes. In order to ensure continuous cooling, a coolant pump has also been incorporated in the rotary piston pump. In accordance with the intended use, inserts are incorporated in the running face of the rotor vanes, in order to counteract wear. To facilitate adjustment of the play between rotor and casing bore, and to achieve as long an overhaul interval as possible, the play can be adjusted by means of adjusting screws.
