The present invention relates to a self-propelled sugar cane-harvesting machine having a compressed-air blower, the air stream of which is directed through the material stream, falling from the inclined conveyor band onto an ascending discharge conveyor band, towards the fall-out hood. This compressed-air blower is assigned in the upper inlet region, towards the fall-out hood, a suction-air blower which is located in the material stream and which is intended to assist the compressed-air blower. In order to prevent the material stream from building up in front of the carrier holding the suction-air blower, this carrier is designed as a hollow profile which, starting from the rotary hub, extends essentially opposite to the material stream or air stream and which forms with the air stream an acute angle always less than 55 DEG . This ensures that the holder is mounted or guided in such a way that it scarcely impedes the material stream.
