For the purpose of producing heat pipes (5) which contain sealed cavities, capillaries (16) and an evaporatable medium and are intended in particular for ignition chambers of ignition devices, it is proposed to proceed from a straight pipe into which the medium is introduced in the form of a section of, for example, metallic wire. The pipe is sealed at both ends to form a heat pipe (5) by fitting crimp fasteners (19). The heat pipe (5) is bent, for example, in a meandering fashion in such a way that turns which are produced bear against one another and in this way form a wall-like component. The turns can be soldered together. Before the introduction of the evaporatable medium, the pipe is constricted once or several times in the cold state, thus producing in it compressive wrinkles with a capillary action. <IMAGE>
