A suspension and filing system is proposed for securing pictures or similar articles by means of a flat securing strip in an annular container which is held open by an elongate slot. The surface of a flexible elongate narrow securing strip is, in this arrangement, provided on at least one side with a self-adhesive securing means and thus serves the purpose of fixing to the front and/or back of a picture or the like. The securing strip contains a recess, on one longitudinal side, which extends approximately to the opposite longitudinal side, which latter longitudinal side is, in each case, retained by its outer ends and by the part which forms the deepest part of the recess, following lateral insertion into the interior of an annular container which only slightly exceeds the length of the securing strip. This securing strip is formed by a fairly rigid flat strip, bent to form an open ring, which is formed in the manner of a frame from two narrower longitudinal parts and two shorter transverse parts connected to the ends thereof, with an elongate recess in between which is separated by a narrower transverse connection. Each flexible securing strip is suspended by being pushed into the slot which is open, or to be kept open at times, and is consequently retained in the annular container, as soon as a picture outside the container ... on the surface which is additionally to be provided with suitable securing means ...
