发明名称 OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTING DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To cause small hysteresis variation and to align optical axes automatically with high precision by controlling pressure supplied to a static pressure gap control mechanism for matching while measuring the degree of matching between a couple of optical fibers optically, and welding the optical fiber to each other by discharge. CONSTITUTION:One optical fiber is mounted on a fixed stage and the other is mounted on a moving stage 202; when a driving device is actuated, the driving device responds to a power meter which measures the degree of matching between the couple of optical fibers optically, and the amount of displacement is set to a displacement gauge 304 on the stage 202. A servo valve 303 responds to this displacement to control pressure supplied to static pressure pockets 301 and 302 of the stage 202, which is displaced in an (x) direction according to the difference in static pressure. The displacement of the stage 202 in a (y) direction is the same, and the supply pressure to the static pressure mechanism for matching of the stage is brought under servo control so that the output of the power meter is maximum; and the optical axes of the optical fibers are aligned to each other automatically with high precision through the stage 202 in small hysteresis displacement, so that the optical fibers are coupled together by discharge welding.
