PURPOSE:To provide a metal working oil compsn. contg. a lubricating oil component, a specified water-sol. macromolecular compd. and a surfactant, which exhibits stabilized distribution of particles with a relatively large diameter even in agitation under high shear stress and excellent lubricating properties, is least affected by contaminants and undergoes little changes with time. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. contains as essential ingredients a lubricating oil component selected from among oil, fat, mineral oil and fatty acid ester, a cationic or amphoteric water-sol. macromolecular compd. having an MW of 1,000- 1,000,000, contg. N atom(s) in the molecule and shown by formula I (where R1 is H or CH3; R2 and R3 are H or 1-3C alkyl), formula II (where R1, R2 and R3 are the same as above; m<1> and n<1> are each 1-3) or formula III (where R1 is the same as above; R4 is H, 1-3C alkyl or alkylol), and a surfactant. The compsn. has particles with a relatively large diameter in stable particles size distribution even in agitation under high shear stress, exhibits high lubricating performance, undergoes little change with time and shows minimized incorporation of soiled oil and foreign substances during operation, for the components B and C are adsorbed by solid particles and renders the particle surface hydrophilic. |
