The subject-matter of the invention is a 4-bit multiplier circuit which is to be only suitable for multiplying 2 four-digit BCD-8421 numbers in order to reduce the circuit. The present multiplier circuit can only be used for multiplying 2 four-digit binary numbers reliably by one another if none of these 2 four-digit binary numbers is greater than the number HLLH (9). The types A1 and A2 of this multiplier circuit are not combined with a recoding circuit and therefore supply result numbers which are coded as purely binary numbers. The types B1 and B2 of this multiplier circuit are combined with a recoding circuit and supply the result number in the form of 2 four-digit BCD-8421 numbers. <IMAGE>
