In order to suppress specific oscillations in an upright 1, 2, preferably suspended from the ceiling, supporting X-ray equipment 4, 5, a pendulum arrangement 10 or the like has been arranged in the upright. When specific oscillations arise in the upright during adjustment of its position, the specific oscillations of the upright are extinguished effectively within only a few seconds by a suppressed pendulum movement in the opposite direction which the specific oscillations of the upright generate in the pendulum arrangement. <IMAGE>
