PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase the ink capacity to the volume of an ink container, by forming a protruded part by upwardly projecting a part of the upper part of the ink container and providing a vent orifice to said protruded part while providing a waving preventing plate to the inner surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:An ink container 4 has a protruded part 12 formed by upwardly projecting a part of the upper part thereof and a vent orifice 13 is formed to the front surface of said protruded part 12. This vent orifice 13 is hermetically closed by a cock member 14 prior to mounting but opened at the time of mounting because the cock member 14 is thrusted down to the interior by the engagement projection 15 provided to the upper part of a container mount part 7 and an ink liquid chamber is brought into communication with the open air. Further, a plurality of waving proventing plates 4A are provided to the inner surface of the protruded part 12. By this method, the ink holding amount to the total volume of the ink container 4 can be increased and waving generated, when a carriage 2 is moved or the direction thereof is converted, can be lowered and the height of the protruded part can be also lowered and a recording apparatus can be made compact. |
