PURPOSE:To obtain a developing characteristic which decreases the mutual deterioration by development by using a two-component developer consisting of the toner particles and carrier particles in which the concn. of the component change continuously from the surface layer part toward the central part of the toner particles to develop the image on an image carrying body. CONSTITUTION:The system consisting of, for example, a polymerizable monomer into which a dye, pigment, cationic polymer or anionic polymer and other additives according to need are incorporated is dispersed into a dispersion medium to form the toner. The anionic dispersant and cationic dispersant prevent the coalescence of the particles with each other and stabilize the particles by binding ionically on the particle surface of the polymer. The concn. of the components from the surface layer part to the central part of the toner particles forms a kind of pseudo capsule where the polar polymer exists much in the surface layer part and decreases gradually toward the central part. The polar polymer having such a suitable degree of polymn. as to prevent the mutual deterioration by the collision and contact of the toner and carrier particles by the repeating phenomena as a result of continuous use is used for the part corresponding to the surface layer part, by which the developing characteristic is maintained. |
