PURPOSE:To copy the both-surface original to one or both surfaces of recording paper automatically by switching modes so that exposure is started from one end or center of an original platen surface on the basis of an operation signal which sets whether an original is bound at the right or left side. CONSTITUTION:When a left-open book original mode and transfer paper side are set and a copy button is turned on, the 1st mirror unit 4 moves from its home position to the center position M of original platen glass 1 to enter the exposing process of the 2nd page LD2 of the original and make a scan to the length of transfer paper, and reaches a point R of exposure completion and stops temporarily. Then, a scanning optical system is inverted at the point R and returned to a point L through a point M, and inverted again and moves to the point M from the point L to form a copy image of the 3rd page DL3 of the original DL on the 2nd transfer paper P2. Sheets of paper are discharged in order, so they are filed as they are. When the original is of right-open book type, an exposure scan on the 2nd page is made to form a copy image and a stop is made at the center position M; and the 2nd copying cycle starts after the completion of the 1st copying cycle. |
