The identification device comprises partly an activator (1) contained in a data carrier in the form of at least one magnetic component (3) specifically positioned in a predetermined pattern, and partly a monitor (2) with a number of constituents (5) for probing data in the activator (1) when it is positioned in a predetermined location relative to the monitor (2). - The activator (1) only affects the monitor (2) magnetically, and the monitor provides (3) a correct output signal only when the activator has correctly placed the data carrier. Thus, the effect occurs on the activator when it is at a distance from the monitor, so that a layer of material penetrable for the activator magnetic field can be arranged between the activator (1) and the monitor (2). |
