PURPOSE:To improve a fixing characteristic and developing characteristic by carrying a magnetic developer contg. the magnetic toner in which a polar polymer and release agent are dispersed and the polymer having the polarity weaker than the polarity of the polar polymer is incorporated on a carrying body to the thickness thinner than the spacing between said body and an electrostatic image holding body facing thereto. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic toner 6 in which the polar polymer and release agent are dispersed and the magnetic toner contg. the polymer having the polarity weaker than the polarity of the polar polymer is incorporated is coated on the surface a non-magnetic cylinder 2 and the electric charge of the polarity reverse from the polarity of the electrostatic image charge is applied by the friction between the cylindrical surface and the toner particles. A doctor blade 5 made of iron is further disposed to face once magnetic pole position of a multipolar permanent magnet 3 in proximity to the cylinder surface by which the thickness of the toner layer is thinly and uniformly controlled. The toner particles are transferred to the electrostatic image side by the attraction effect of the electrostatic image or the effect of AC bias. The offsettability is thus improved by the polar polymer and release agent; in addition, the wear resistance of the developability is assured and the fixability is assured by the polymer having the weaker polarity. The formation of the image having excellent image quality is thus made possible. |
