摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a high-quality optical semiconductor wedge base lamp to be manufactured easily, by holding a lead frame on which a light-emitting diode chip is bonded is held in a predetermined position in a mold unit in which a resin mold is utilized for the lens portion and metallic split molds are utilized for the wedge base portion, and by injecting and curing light-transmitting resin for molding them integrally. CONSTITUTION:A resin mold 1 and split molds 29 and 30 are attached to a base 4 to form a mold unit. A plurality of light-emitting diode chips 6 are bonded onto lead frames 7, which are pressed and held against the side faces of a holding frame 8 by plate springs 27 and 28. The holding frame 8 is lowered vertically in the direction as indicated by an arrow P so that inserting pins 25 and 26 are fitted into inserting holes 9 and 10 provided in supporting frames 11 and 12, whereby they are set as shown in the drawing. After that, a predetermined quantity of light-transmitting resin 44 is injected through a plurality of injection holes 43 and cured. After the resin is cured completely, screws for holding the split molds 29 and 30 are loosened so that the split mold 29 is moved in the direction Y while the split 30 in the direction Y'. The holding frame 8 is then lifted in the direction of P' so that the mold unit is released.
