An insulating gas interrupter switch is specified, in the case of which the diameter of each electrode of the pair of electrodes is selected such that it makes up two to four times the distance between the electrodes during the interruption, so that the interrupter switch voltage shock is reduced and the dielectric breakdown strength to earth during the interruption of the capacitive current is increased.
