PURPOSE:To retard decrease in electrolyte to prevent early drop of battery capacity by covering the inner and outer surfaces of a glass container with shock resistant synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:Inner and outer covering layers 2 and 2' having shock resistant property are formed on the inner and outer surfaces of a glass container 1 to form a battery container 3. An electrode group 4 comprising a cathode plates 5, anode plates 6, and glass fiber separators 7 is impregnated with electrolyte so that no free electrolyte exists and accommodated into the container 3, then the container 3 is sealed with a cover to form a battery. By using the container 3, penetration of moisture from the container is retarded or prevented. Thereby, early performance drop of the battery caused by decrease in electrolyte is prevented. |
